Wrist Corsage in 3 Steps!

You know what I love about these Tattered Pinecone and Jumbo Tattered Pinecone dies from Sizzix? Because I can use it to make not just pinecones but pretty flowers too!

So I used it to make a wrist corsage for one of my Thoughtful Crafts customer. She wanted silver with any color for accent and I thought it would look prettier to add flowers made of white cardstock and vellum paper.

I always start my work with a clean surface, with all the materials in mind. I don't necessarily use all of it in the end because I never plan what to do.. I just go with the flow, enjoy the trial and error process. It works for me. So here you can see I have my Bigshot machine, dies, glitter cardstock, lace, adhesive.

It always starts with cutting my shapes. And you need to layer the 'sandwich' made of Sizzix Cutting Pad + die + material to cut + and the second cutting pad. Roll the sandwich through the machine, and get the perfectly cut die-cuts in seconds!

Next is to roll the die-cuts to make the flowers. You can find the detailed instructions on how to do this here.

So pretty! And the silver leaves ... love it!

So these are the wrist corsage in 3 very easy steps:

1. Die-cut with Sizzix.

2. Roll and assemble the flower and leaves.

3. Attach to a layer of ribbon and laces, add pearl and stickles!

Done! :)

By the way, here's an extra story...

The boys are here at home. All. The. Time. Because it's school holidays until January. It's impossible to concentrate haha. And since I needed to post this blog, I went into hiding in the bedroom while they were playing outside. Guess what happened next...

They followed me. They just follow me everywhere! LOL. So if I can't run away from them, I better have selfie with them :D

Valentines Gifts for K&B's Teachers

Hey there everyone! Here's what I made for my son’s teachers for Valentine’s Day using 2 of the really great dies by Stephanie Ackerman — the Sizzix Bigz XL Die Box & Card and the Sizzix Originals Die Flower Layers #6. It’s such a fast an easy project. And you can even do it with your gradeschooler. Because I did. I let my child help me in this project because I believe the process will make him proud to really say to his teacher .... read the rest of my post HERE.

I always love reading inspirational books. Well guess what I have made one myself using

the Sizzix Sliced Bread die by Where Women Cook. It's just like a book full of inspirations. But this book is pretty. And it's a bread. Not. Haha!

Would you like to take a look at the inside pages?

You can change or add more inspirations, quotes and Bible verses. Just write it down on a pretty tag. Add clip it down to the album with clips, tapes or a stapler.

Who is this monkey???

When I took the photos of my above project, he volunteered to be my assistant then became my model.

I DID NOT ask him to pose for me. He asked me to take his photo. LOL.

He does look like he's having such a good time modelling haha! Fine with me, as long as he doesn't step on my precious book! LOL.

worth remembering

I checked my calendar and looked at my activities this past week. I wanted to be proud of myself for having done a lot for the world. But when I really thought about it, the things that made me smile were not the ones listed in my calendar. These were the simple things I did randomly. Things that were not urgent but I did them anyway.

... wanting to make someone happy.

... seeing Jaime Oliver's very effortless way of making a poached egg and attempted to do it too, failing miserably haha! I ate 3 poached eggs today because I didn't wanna waste eggs :)

... crackle painting my nails.

... discovering my two darlings bonding non-verbally.

... Okay, to have their hair cut is was my planner. But the burgers + caramel sundae date? Definitely not! It happened after a debate with Miguel lol.

Thank God for providing me with all the time to do the things that are so simple but worth remembering.... (that's why I blogged about them!) Hope we all have a bright and happy week ahead!
