What a Wednesday!

Having no helper for 2 months now (after getting used to having one since my two boys were born) took me out of my comfort zone. The change gave me unexpected twists and turns some almost make me cry but most are just priceless moments. Like these ones I will share with you today.

Yesterday morning,  I forgot that every Wednesday, Kuya’s school bus comes an hour earlier. Totally missed it so I had to be the one to bring him to school (thanks to Uber!). I lost 2 hours in my schedule but anyway, problem solved.



Next concern:  to rush back before Miguel gets  home but just couldn’t so I called him to meet me at the mall. He waited for me at the food court. This was what I saw.



My youngest one making his homework while waiting for me. The sight made me teary-eyed and happy. The feeling was priceless.

So the day went on with the usual Wednesday stuff. Until after dinner I remembered it's children's day the next day and I had nothing planned and I couldn't just shrug it off because Miguel's expecting gifts for his classmates. We have been doing it since nursery.

Guess what happened.

Hubby helped me! After putting the boys to sleep, we did our  last minute project. He ran to the nearest store to buy some chocolates while I prepared the paper strawberries. Turned out to be a fun experience for us. We only didn't make 40 little presents, we actually had our date for the week!

What a wonderful day it turned out to be!

thankful tuesday: haircut

For the longest time, 3 years to be exact, Kuya didn't want a barber to cut his hair. He would protest with all his might. It's because he has some sensory issues with scissors, clippers and an unfamiliar person touching his hair. There's only one and only person who could ever do the job --- Mommy. In all fairness to me, he looked good in the past 3 years (or so I thought!). We got used to it.  Even Miguel followed the trend. Mommy does the boys hair. Until we saw Junior League @ ToysRus! I figured, the kids might like it there coz of the toys surrounding them, the TV screen showing their favorite Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, the balloons, lollipops and stickers!

True enough, Kuya loved it! Was teary eyed seeing him sit still, with little protest but so manageable that Aunty Wenda kept telling me he is a very good boy (and handsome the nth time). What a big surprise that was, Kuya! You made Mommy and Daddy so happy :) 

Miguel's protests were stronger than Kuya! (But of course, it was his FIRST!) But some explanation and a little bit of bribing, he complied and sat on the chair. He cracked us all up when he called our attention saying: "I want lollipop!" Maybe he thought: Since Kuya had it, lollipop must be part of  the process lol *See photos*

Another bonus was the very kind and sweet Auntie Wenda who did all her best to make my boys feel comfy. She's heaven sent. Plus, hubby and I couldn't help being so amused seeing our two boys in green hair and glitters! Super cute! =) That day was really unforgettable. Will definitely miss wearing my "barber" hat but what can I do? Boys grow up. They need a "real" haircut. lol!

Mothers' Room in Forum

Just got home from Orchard!
And I'm feeling so thankful!
It's Thankful Tuesday once again! =)

It's always exciting to wake up on a Tuesday morning because I know how the boys love the activities we do at this time of the week :) I thank the Lord for Tuesdays! and the many little and big blessings that come with it.

• waking up, telling the boys "Today is Tuesday! We are going to Orchard!"
• smiles on Kuya's face when I tell him: "We are seeing Teacher Agnes!"
  
• smiles on Miggy's face when he sees nice shirts being prepared by Mommy. It means we're going out! yay!
• train rides
• long stroller rides
• calories burned coz of those long stroller rides!
• passing by borders and get the chance to see book sales! (today I got one cute and useful diet book at only $2.50! and one kids cake-making book at half the price!)
• Hearing positive and encouraging comments from Kuya's speech pathologist! Today was the bestest of all! Kuya is very good and is getting there! Thank You Lord!
• Seeing the therapy and being able to take notes, brainstorm for my activities with Kuya (and Miguel too!) for the following days of the week.
• Taking photos of me with my happy bugoys.
  
• The joy shared with hubby as I tell him mini stories throughout the day.
  

Two more reasons to be thankful today: one, I was able to do my belly dance exercise despite the fact that we had to go as early as 9:30! (Wow disciplined!) and two, the cozy moment with Migs at newly renovated 'Mother's Room' at Forum where we usually rest, to nurse him, while Kuya makes wewe :) I already loved the previous room. It was already nice. I think we also took pictures in there. But I really smiled from ear to ear seeing the new room. As a mom, I felt loved. I believe it's God's way of telling me He loves me and He is with me in my struggles, fears in taking care of my little ones. I appreciate the mall's efforts to give importance to Moms (and baby's) needs. I felt like a queen sitting inside that nice room with my prince Miguel! (Kuya didn't want to get inside. Maybe he thinks he's too big to be in a m0m's room. lol) See our photos earlier today!

Most importantly, Tuesday is the day for our Word Celebration with NC Way community. I always feel nourished and inspired by the scriptures and the sharings. Knowing and be reminded of God's great love gives me and hubby strength in facing life's challenges everyday. Even on Tuesdays! :)
